hi I'm Dave Kessler amateur radio call sign ke 0og and we're preparing to test an antenna first though we need a piece of coax to go out to the antenna and I have this length of RG 8 X coax just my favorite coax for lower frequencies and we need the co-op's that goes from the surge protector up to the antenna itself now there are a couple different ways you can put connectors on this the old-fashioned way the solder connectors where you do lots of peeling put things together solder the end and then solder the inside and so on I'm going to use a simpler technique called crimping which is actually a hybrid technique we will end up soldering the center court I'm going to be using a tips that came to me from Quicksilver radio I bought this some years ago an awful thing just kind of where they go there's the actual crimper itself there's these big hairy wire cutters the key thing is the wire
