these are the overworked Mariner 8 by 40 binoculars these are our favorite grab-and-go binoculars for a whole lot of things at 37 ounces there one meaty chunk of binocular perfectly good in the daytime as the Mariner name implies they are completely waterproof I wouldn't immerse them for a long time but if any one I could or could take it these would be the ones at night under the dark sky they absolutely excel an unbelievably wide field of view for such a binocular the eye cups dial up to provide an extra measure of light baffling that you don't normally see in a binocular this small there are Center focus style binoculars so they're very convenient to get focus on quickly that's mostly useful for terrestrial daytime binocular use because the stars are effectively at infinity you're not going to be focusing them more than once per night usually about the only thing we didn't like about
