hey guys Barrett here at sound pur coming at you today with what I hope will be a helpful tip on what to look out for when you're thinking about your next guitar and specifically as you're making your way through the various spec sheets for these wonderful instruments how to make sense of the nut width in the string spacing measurements and how those two things work together so basically on either when I'm talking about the nut width I'll be talking about basically the width of the neck here at the nut when I'm talking about string spacing we're talking about the distance from basically the low E string to the high E string basically how the strings spread out as they get closer to the saddle some manufacturers will take that measurement at the 14th fret you probably would for a guitar like this where the 14th fret is easily accessible some manufacturers will take that measurement right
