hi today we've got the first in a series of videos of me upgrading my home network and server and to start off with we're going to be looking at the internet gateway so for a couple years I've been running one of these WatchGuard fire box units in my network cabinet as my home router rather than using the software that comes on these devices that you have to pay a subscription for I decided to run pfSense on here so this is basically just a standard PC with a customized motherboard which allows some extra gigabit ports on the front it's got an interface for an LCD and then also a comport on the front which offers console redirection so you can completely configure the device over a serial port so as this is basically just a standard PC the main problem with it is that it's drawing quite a lot of power from the mains so I changed the processor to a seller on em to try and get the power c
