Minolta SRT 201 SLR 35mm Camera w/ Minolta MD Rokkor-x 45mm 1:2 lens

hey i'm matt and i want to show you this minolta rockrx pancake lens [Music] this is a 45 millimeter f2 lens produced by minolta in the late 1970s it's got a focal length just slightly wider than the standard 50 millimeter an aperture that's a little bit smaller than the nifty 50 as well the minimum focal distance is right around two feet so it can be kind of difficult to get super close to your subject but these small sacrifices allow the 45 millimeter to cut back significantly on the size and weight i called this a pancake lens earlier that could actually be brought up for debate a pancake lens is any lens that's super compact and fits closely to the camera body oftentimes they're hardly bigger than a lens mount body cap this lens clearly is larger than a body cap and adding an e-mount adapter nearly doubles the size and weight of it but even with all of that it's still pretty compact
