today I'm gonna show you how to use split bolt bugs hi my name is Craig Mashhad and I am the electrical instructor today we're gonna talk about bugs not the bugs that creepy or crawly around the house you know we're gonna talk about bugs when we're making connections to an overhead service and in some cases in large feeder services sometimes we have to splice in junction boxes maybe a wire is too short maybe we're changing in a different direction used in a junction box we have to use what's called a bug now in most cases you're gonna use what we call a high press and you're gonna use a compression lug it's almost like a butt-splice type thing if you don't have that because those are expensive you know high press alone starts at 1,500 bucks or more and most companies don't have that with them so you should know how to at least splice bugs today I'm gonna show you how I splice bugs using
