the RAM d size handle wrench consists of two different marine grade aluminum components you have the open shell that fits over the knob of any D sized ball and socket mount system and you have the handle itself which you can position using this spring-loaded function on the tooth lock system so you can position the direction of the handle in relation to the shell the Shelf it's over any knob of the D sized ball and socket mount system is shown here and the handle one position correctly provides extra torque when tightening down the knob on the ball and socket mount system and as you tighten it you can reposition the direction of the handle and continue tightening further to the desired position once you have it tightened down it should be tied to a point where you cannot loosen the mount by hand this wrench was designed originally for military use in cold weather applications
