hey youtube it's jp dillon today we're going to focus on servicing or doing a basic service on the gerard i call it the common gerard mechanism this was a mechanism used in the mid to late 1960s you commonly see it on models like the gerard 3000 which was in a lot of packard bell consoles the lab 40 the lab 40 mark ii uh the gerard 6000 the gerard at6 and similar models like what's pictured here and also the klh branded gerard changers they all share this similar mechanism and today i'm going to go over the aspects of servicing it because i get a lot of emails like hey we like your bsr your bic your other turntable videos why not do one on gerard so this is out of a general electric one of those wall hanging consoles and it's got a a fairly nice floating tone arm here but pretty much these are all the same they all operate the same they all have the same basic cycling mechanism in them
