optica exotica here with a review the Nikon Monarch 5 8 by 42 under bright conditions at this day on the Mendocino coast in California very bright sharp skyline let's see what this baby can do now this binocular is gonna shine sharp view across the entire field this glass is pretty clear this is definitely sharper than the pro staff 3s it's on a par almost with a Nikon Monarch 7 which is my personal favorite I am seeing very slight chromatic aberration that purple fringing it's looking like we have a little bit along that distant Bluff on the horizon running horizontally and we have a little bit of fringing on the very bottom I'm I also see a slight fall-off in the image under bright lighting conditions you can see a fall-off in the sharpness of the image better so this is a good day to test these fall-off happens at around 10% to the edge my do the colors pop bright focus depth is exce
