Description
When you want the best optical performance - rain or shine - grab a pair of Orion otter ED binoculars and prepare to be impressed! waterproof otter ED 10x42 binoculars feature fully multi-coated ED glass optics and phase-coated back-4 roof prisms to deliver exceptionally clear, true-color views in any weather. In binoculars without ED optics, light is scattered as it passes through the lenses and prisms, which reduces clarity and causes color fringing, resulting in an undesirable viewing experience. The specially made extra-low dispersion glass found in our otter ED binoculars eliminate color fringing by significantly reducing light scattering so you can enjoy true-color performance and crystal-clear views. Rugged Orion otter ED 10x42 binoculars are built with a strong, magnesium alloy body with rubberized armoring for a comfortable grip. Each barrel is held rigidly in-place thanks to the open-hinge binocular design which helps maintain optical alignment even in rough conditions. A super-smooth center focus wheel makes it easy to dial-in crisp and clear views. The 10x42 otter ED binocular boasts a 5.Degree field-of-view perfect for powerful scanning at 10x magnification. These otter ED binoculars can focus on objects as close as 6.6' away, which is especially useful while hiking and birdwatching. Compact otter ED binoculars won't take up a lot of space with their 6.5"X5" size, and a clamshell-style carry case is included. Tethered objective lens caps, a single-piece eyepiece cap and wide neck strap are also included.

Product review & video
hello I'm Ken with Orion telescopes and binoculars and this is the Orion 10 by 42 otter edy birding binocular so first of all it's 10 magnification 10 by 40 to 10 times closer and a 42 millimeter lens to suck in the light that you need when you're birding in lower light conditions in the treeline on a gray rainy day and it also works very well for just general purpose hiking and nature viewing it's lightweight magnesium alloy body keeps it very lightweight the the open hinge design here gives it structural rigidity in the front in the back it's hinged and holds its collimation but it's open in the middle so it keeps it a little bit lighter weight and the feel of the binocular is actually quite nice I like wrapping my fingers around it like this and I have a nice solid connection to the binocular when I'm looking through it it's got a 5.6 degree field of view and just over 15 millimeters
