to begin setting up your CDI first make sure that you have the correct brace for the correct leg the CTI logo goes on the outside of your leg undo all four rear straps and fold the velcro back on itself the front strap should be loosened but not undone sit on a chair with your legs slightly bent the center of the hinge should be positioned in line with the middle of the kneecap a correctly fitted brace should hold in position using the condyle pads and not slip down under its own weight it's important to adjust the pads either side of the knee to give a good fit if the bracelets down or is too tight you can use any combination of pads to make sure it stays in place there are three thicknesses of pads and velcro shims for extra thickness if required the pads are attached with Velcro on the inside of the hinge the straps should be fastened in the following order start with the strap below
