if you've got any outlets where your stones going you might want to get some of these electrical box extenders they're really cheap a couple bucks and basically it brings out that outlet so that it's flush with the top of the stone so we're installing stone here that has a thickness to it but if you're using tile it's the same situation you don't want to have to cut it around the outlet plate cover like you see here it just doesn't provide a good look you're going to see the cut edge of the tile or stone this way so for a buck or two you can get these electrical box extenders that are really easy to install as we'll show you here so the first thing you do is shut the power off at the main circuit breaker it's a good idea to check the outlet to make sure that it's been shut off with either a tester or maybe a lamp or something of that nature then we remove the electrical cover you can se
