on today's from the install day we're going to talk about affordable smart harnesses so stay tuned so back in 2005 General Motors thought it'd be a good idea to combine their radios that they put on the dash with the body control modules in the car and in doing that they remove the accessory wire which is the red wire on your radios harness the accessory wires will cooked up to the ignition of the car and when you turn the car on and off turns on and off the radio by removing that the data system when you turn on the ignition is what activates the radio through the body control module so when you replace the radio there's no ignition wire behind there to activate the radio so what we do originally is we buy these giant key harnesses and relocate the factory radio under the trunk or under the seat or something like that it was real pain in the butt and then smart harnesses started to com
