Good morning! Today we're going to look at how to trim your bearded dragons nails. And this can be applied to most other reptiles, I just only have a dragon so I can only show you on my dragon. Whether or not you have to clip your bearded dragons nails is going to depend on the substrate that you have. And the substrate is whatever you put on the bottom of your tank. Now, Ecco has a tile substrate but it's pretty smooth so it doesn't really help file down his nails very much. Natural stone or slate will most likely keep your dragons nails filed on its own, whereas if you use something smooth like linoleum, non-stick shelf liner, newspaper or paper towels, or fleece, you'll most likely have to trim your dragons nails yourself.
