hi everyone welcome to another episode of k m rd radio stuff my name is mike if you haven't already go ahead and hit the subscribe button also hit the bell so you're notified when i make new videos thank you today i want to talk about coax your transmission line and how that affects the power from your radio to the antenna so i've got a few different types of coax and a few different lengths uh i've got 100 foot roll of rg 213 a 50 foot roll of rg-8x 100 foot roll of rg 58u and about 120 foot roll of rg8x what sparked this was i i was building this this antenna right here this is a roll-up j-pole that i was hoping i could use on 2 meters and 70 centimeters and while yes technically i can when i was testing it it looked really really good on the analyzer the catch was though i was using this length of coax which is 50 feet of rg8x and what looked really good on the analyzer in reality wa
