hello Jess here a GPS city I've got the Gilson five volt USB power cable at one end we have the USB connection that goes into your device in the middle we have this block blocks which has an indicator LED on it also it converts the 12 volts out to five volts so only five volts is coming out of this USB end and there's a fuse in here at the other end we have two bare wires we have a red wire which goes to the positive 12 volts of the battery or the power system and then a black ground wire which goes to the ground or chassis of the vehicle so it's best to go right to the ground of the battery for more information on this cable and to purchase other accessories for your gps just visit GPS city
