[Music] hi Chuck Holly from West marine one of the unfortunate side effects of going boating in salt water is that you can be sure that there's going to be a certain amount of rust and a certain amount of chafe lines especially dock lines which are used for tying up your boat get moved all the time with the motion of the water and the wind and after a while it's all a poor nylon line can do to hold together well the sea dog leather chafe guards are a really nice way to upgrade your dock lines so that you don't have that problem these are so handy to use you know leather is not easy to work with especially when you're trying to make small holes in it so what sea dog has done is given you two pieces of leather that are exactly the right width and they're pre-punched with the holes for the stitching so you don't have to try to jam your needle through the leather now these are about a foot
