okay hi guys welcome back to the shed today i'm going to be looking at some cheap antennas that we can get for our mobile broadband routers uh specifically i've got a cheap omni directional antenna here and i've got a pair of directional antennas and what i'm going to be doing is just having a look at the gain of these things and then checking out the throughput improvements that we can get off these things on our mobile broadband router and seeing if they're worth spending a cheap amount of money as compared to an expensive antenna okay so the omnidirectional antenna here i just chose a random one from ebay 16 pounds another plus point it covers the frequency bands that we're interested in 700 to 2700 meg but that's about all the plus points really negative um it's really poor quality cable i mean it's so like bendy that's going to have a load of loss associated to it and really offset
