hello everyone uh today i'm going to show you how to graph basic functions and in this example we're going to graph the function f of x equals x okay and here to the right we have this x-axis and y-axis so we want to find out if the function f of x equals x look like this or does the function look like that or does the function look like this so we want to find that out in order to find out how the function looks like on the graph we can draw this table so here i'm going to draw a table where we have the x over here and we have y which is the same thing as f of x okay so now we're going to plug in x value to f of x which is equal to x okay so when we plug in 1 for x we're going to get a y value of therefore one equals one basically when x is one so y is going to be one plug in x x equals two we get a y value of f of two equals two when we plug in three we get a y value of f three equals
