hi I'm Shaun Waner at rotary let's headquarters in Madison Indiana today I'll be showing you how to adjust the equalizer cables on a rotary to post lift the check if your lift cables need to be adjusted raise the lift unloaded and listen for the clicking of the locks engaging if the locks are not engaging simultaneously then adjustment is needed to adjust the cable to begin by lowering the lift to its first locking position then check the equalizer cable tension by squeezing the cables together if the cables feel loose they will need to be tightened hold the base of the cable with a pair of vise grips or a 9/16 inch wrench then use a 15 sixteenths inch wrench to start tightening the nut keep tightening until the cable is taut with minimal resistance you should be able to squeeze the cables within a 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch of each other make sure you repeat the process on the opposite
