well I purchased this Sherwood AV receiver at the local Goodwill thrift store and they had already tested it and determined it was a parts only receiver so I decided to purchase it and see what was up with it the amplifier itself works just fine and any of the auxiliary inputs work fine but you could not get it to tune on a station anywhere regardless of whether you had an antenna connected or not in fact there's one radio station is close enough that pretty much any radio that I have I can tune in to that station without an antenna and this thing wouldn't even begin to attempt to so I pulled the top off of here and started looking around a little bit and right there is some of that nasty glue that everybody talks about that sucks up the moisture and turns conductive and you can see there is a crystal oscillator around that and this particular chip right here the LM 7000 one happens to
