hello I'm Jeremy Robertson EMS educator with Sioux Falls Fire Rescue today what we're gonna talk about is kind of a how-to video on how to do a replacement kit for your AED so if you have a public-access if your defibrillator in your facility you want to make sure you check it usually on a monthly basis to make sure it's in prime operating order so a couple things that we're looking for when we look at an AED as we look up here in the upper part of it there's a little window there it should say okay with three black boxes on it we're also looking at this little window here which may have will have the expiration date for the patches themselves the battery and patches are designed to both of them to expire at about the same time so that's why we just have one time replacement kit for it also if you look on the back of your aad is if the date is over ten years old you may want to consider
