hi today we will take a look at this esp8266 Wi-Fi module it's a quite powerful chip that can connect to your access point or even act as an access point itself these modules come pre-programmed with a firmware that can be controlled over a serial interface using 80 comments just like the 80 comments that we already know from my bluetooth tutorials this is the ESP oh seven it's an SMD version within ceramic antenna and an additional antenna connector but there are also versions that are easier to connect the pin pitch is two millimeters so it cannot easily be soldered to the regular pin headers to use it on a breadboard this is an 14 pin version it's a little bit older now there are already sixteen pin versions that also have another pin configurations so you will have to be careful there in this tutorial I will just show how to wire this up and how to connect to it over serial interfac
