High quality audio recording is achieved with the Tascam DR-40 4-Track Handheld Digital Audio Recorder. The DR-40 offers a remarkable combination of compact, durable design with professional-level features. It records to SD or SDHC flash memory cards up to 320 kbps, and WAV/BWF files at rates up to 24-bit/96 kHz. With built-in condenser microphones you can choose an X/Y or A/B stereo pattern and a built-in speaker allows you to play back your recordings instantly for review. In addition to peak limiting and a low cut filter the DR-40 offers Dual Recording Mode which records a backup copy that will never be distorted. The microphone’s XLR & 1/4" input can accept balanced microphone or line inputs and the preamp includes phantom power for detailed recordings with condenser microphones. The DR-40 can operate for up to 15 hours from 3 standard AA batteries and can use USB power via the included cable.

The package provides the necessary accessories that work hand in hand with the DR-40 for professional-sounding recordings.
