hey everyone welcome back to do-it-yourself Telecom in this video I'm going to cover wiring a household or residential phone jack so this is not for business this is for residential and particularly is applicable in the United States so you usually have about three types of Jack's in a house you might have a surface mount or in the industry in slang we refer to this as a biscuit jack you can have a wall mount jack which means this sits on the sheetrock and then a phone sits on top of it and slides down so if you think about a kitchen style phone or grandma's phone in the kitchen that that would sit on top of that on these two little stubs right here the last type that I don't have right here in front of me is a flush mount jack which looks a lot like this except instead of having these little post on it it's just flush into the sheetrock so there's usually like I'll try a rectangle hole
