in this video we're gonna focus on something called dollar cost averaging or we might be wondering what is dollar cost averaging dollar cost averaging is an investment strategy more specifically it's a passive investment strategy rather than invest in into a stock or a mutual fund all at once with dollar cost averaging you would break up that investment into multiple parts where you would buy the stock where the mutual fund periodically over time and what this does is this neutralizes the impact of short-term volatility it also prevents you from time in the market which will take a lot of time and research to do and it's very difficult for anyone to accurately time when the markets at its bottom or when it's at its peak because there's a lot of variables in the equation that we're not aware of so dollar cost averaging it's a passive investment strategy that takes the guesswork in terms
