In addition to reminding you when you need to take your pill, it lets you know if you missed a dose or took the wrong one, tracks your adherence history, and alerts you when you’re due for a refill. It goes the extra step by notifying your family or chosen caregivers to give you extra help when you need it. Modern Design and Smart Sensors The Tricella Pillbox was designed with usability in mind, as well as being aesthetically pleasing. The large capacity drawers are easy to open, yet secure when closed. Each pill drawer has a smart sensor for accurate tracking. The on board logic and app helps users and families stay healthy and connected. Tricella is here to help, and your family too. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Medicine, Health, Family. How did you come up with the idea for this product? Living far away from our parents has never been easy, especially as they age. We felt helpless during the times they had unscheduled visits to hospitals. We learned that not adhering to their prescribed regimen contributed to most of those visits. We wanted to find a way to connect to our families and ensure that they were on the right path to improving their quality of life. It was also important to us that our parents were able to maintain independence, but receive moral support from us when they needed it to adhere to their health plans. That’s what inspired us to create a connected pillbox. What makes your product special? The Tricella Pillbox is more than a pill reminder. It’s easy to ignore reminders, so we designed a smart portable pillbox that lets you know if you actually missed a dose, and notifies families too. The LED notifications in our Pillbox gives visual cues for which dose to take and when. The Pillbox uses a common coin cell battery, and lasts up to 6 months (or more) with normal usage. Use the Pillbox by Tricella app (iOS and Android) to get a history of your adherence, send messages to remind a loved one to take their pills or give kudos, track when you need a refill, and more. What has been the best part of your startup experience? The best part of our startup experience has been the opportunity to work with amazing people, and to be fortunate enough to have mentors that share the same vision. Most importantly, it’s the opportunity to be a part of our user’s journey in improving the quality of life of their loved ones.
