I own and operate a wonderfully engineered cordless telephone system the VTech which has been a reliable telephone bot at six years ago from my home along with three cordless extensions after six years the rechargeable batteries have worn out when I went to purchase new ones I discovered it was cheaper to purchase an entire new set as you can clearly see here on their website then it was to replace the batteries this just doesn't make any sense to me at all the rampant consumer culture we all participate in has created this sort of a monster and when one really thinks about it for a minute think of all the natural resources and energy it takes to manufacture an entire new phone system in China and ship it to the United States think of the greenhouse gas emissions which is simply think
