we get asked this question a lot so i wanted to go over an example with you what is the difference between a dryer cord and a range cord uh a range cord is usually rated at 50 amps a dryer cord is rated at about 30 amps but there is one big difference this is a dryer power cord and you'll notice the l-shaped ground plug or neutral this is a three-prong dryer outlet receptacle that will mount to the wall and this is a four-prong dryer outlet receptacle you can tell by the l-shaped ground or neutral on the plug what we have here is a three-prong range outlet you can tell by the straight neutral go ahead and take a look behind your appliance take a look behind the dryer unplug the plug and take a look at what you need because the outlet that is in the wall behind your appliance will ultimately determine what power cord is needed for your appliance so please let us know if you have any othe
