The 228 is the smaller of Aquapac's 2 budget radio cases (the 229 is a Pro version, while the 248 is a larger version that fits larger handsets or radios/satphones with extra-long antenna). The 228 size fits most handheld radios, whether with left- or right-hand antenna. It comes supplied with an adjustable lanyard, to hang it round your neck. You can use your radio normally through the case, it doesn't interfere with sound or radio signals. It will also protect your handset from dust, dirt and sand. And like most Aquapac cases it'll float if you drop it in the drink, making it a prudent investment to protect even handsets that are already waterproof. The AQUACLIP (a patented, ultra-secure, rustproof, plastic seal) opens and closes with a simple twist of two levers, and everything stays in one piece even when the clip is open. The case is made of a thin but remarkably tough PVC-free material called TPU, and is very light (1.8 ounces / 51 grams including the lanyard). The seams are high-frequency welded to form a super-strong bond. Aquapac have sold over 5 million of their waterproof cases since 1983, and have won the Queen's Award for Enterprise 3 times.
