The new SXD2 Mount has a greater loading capacity, than previous Sphinx Mounts, and is more rigid enabling a steady platform for astrophotography. The quiet Stepping motors ensure you of smooth, quiet slewing with quick response to commands. The new Star Book Ten, available previously on the SXP Mount, features an intuitive Star Chart Go-To System on a high definition LCD Screen. Features include night vision screen, hibernate mode, VPEC and PPEC, and optional built in auto guider. The RA and DEC Axes are made of sturdy steel with brass wheel gears. The mount can carry loads of up to 50 lbs. (including counterweights) for astrophotography. The inside of the new SXD2 is very different from the previous SX Mounts. Bearings have been added to the shafts of the RA and DEC axes and the screw gear shafts. The worm screw gears are inspected for strict concentricity and are lapped in the whole-circle for smooth movement. Includes HAL130SXG Tripod Vixen’s VC 200L Reflector is an 8" f/9.0 highly corrected, highly specialized telescope for astro imaging. The unique cat dioptric design features a high precision sixth order spherical primary mirror (VISAC), a convex secondary mirror and triplet corrector lens. The VISAC System provides high-definition star images to the edge of a wide viewing field and offers exceptionally outstanding performance in astrophotography. Even at the edge of the 35mm film format (larger CCD chips) stars are sharp (smaller than 15 micrometers). With its elaborate spherical optical design, it achieves excellent image correction throughout the large illuminated field Astronomy Technology Review states: "The VC200L focuser is one of the smoothest I've ever tested...overall the visual image quality of the VC200L was quite impressive...and is a step up from the typical Schmidt-Cass grain". welcome to Dakota's starry nights workshop well we're out here in a category three dark sight Suns going down got the Black Hills behind me and ol Sol over there heading down towards the horizon earlier today I took delivery on a vixen VCM 200 L it is a modified Mach Cassegrain and the idea for this set up here this is a twilight to explore scientific mount and here I have a TM b92 SS triplet with a three-inch feather touch focuser for a wide field this is f 5.5 so I have about a five hundred and five millimeters of focal length here and a thirteen millimeter 100 degree teleview ethos over here on the Vixen the focal length on that is 1950 operating I believe it's at F nine point seven five and I have a teleview 10 millimeter Delos and so that magnification there is going to be just a shade under two hundred and over here with this 13 millimeter he throws this will be right around I bel
