we're now gonna go through the process of setting up coda illumination put a slide on the stage and put it in focus with the times ten objective and then fully close the field iris down here so it is completely closed you'll just see a tiny spot of light coming through the center of the closed iris diaphragm we can see this closed iris diaphragm bright spot down the microscope and these two controls either side of the condenser assembly move the condenser laterally in either direction and the idea is to move the center spot until it's right in the center of the field of view as you can see and when it's right in the center just stop you then open the field iris diaphragm until it just disappears outside of the field of view and you'll be surprised how little you need to open the field iris to achieve that the next step is to fully close the substage iris all the way over until it's just
