[Music] um [Music] hello and welcome to another mini tutorial with me calm meet carmichael attend physics living history group today we're going to be looking at the german helmet and in particularly how to camouflage the german helmet in accordance with ludendorff the chief of the german staff directive of july 1918. okay this is a replica 1916 pattern style helm helmet as worn by a vast majority of the german army at this time the first thing we need to do is work out our camouflage pattern so using permanent marker i've drawn the lines where i want to paint on my blocks of color now we are using four different oil-based paints oil-based paint is what ludendorff stipulated we're using yellow ochre olive green burnt sienna and black we're also using fine sand to help spring to sprinkle on the helmet to help cut out any shine we're then going to add our first color in this case yellow o
