this is the Seagate 500 gigabyte SATA hard drive and I just wanted to show you why it's important to always check the jumper cables on and drive the jumper settings on a particular Drive that you get you know people may think that hey this is not a pata hard drive it's not an IDE hard drive why do I need to bother with the jumper settings I'll show you so if you look carefully over here you'll see a jumper there the drive shifts like this I didn't put it there so you know this is the power connector the SATA connector and those are the four jumpers right here so it's got a jumper set right there let's have a look at the drive legend to see what it says about it so lo and behold it tells you that if there's the jumper there drive operation is limited to one point five gigabits per second so that's that's a very important bit of information right there this means that if you leave that ju
