good evening my name's chris and today i'll be reviewing the living daylights out of a very expensive lens for those of you who are curious about such things i have with me the zeiss otis 85 millimeter f 1.4 it was released seven years ago back in 2014 when it was lauded as one of the sharpest camera lenses ever made but that was then and this is now and deadly sharp 85 millimeter lenses by various manufacturers have become widely available can this otis lens priced at 3 400 pounds in the uk and 4 400 in the us still wipe up the competition and sharpness isn't everything what else can it do well let's see it's a full frame manual focus lens for digital slr cameras although it can of course be adapted onto mirrorless cameras which is what i'll be doing with this review testing it on a canon eos r5 the test shots of which you will be able to see here even just a cursory inspection of the
