this demonstration is to show the difference between standard and solid-state hard drives the computers used are identical Dell Latitude 64 30s with 2.7 gigahertz Intel Core i5 processors and 8 gigabytes of memory from left to right they're equipped with a 5400 rpm a 7200 rpm and finally a Samsung 850 Evo solid-state drive all drives are 500 gigabytes that have been cloned to contain the exact same information no other changes to either of the systems have been made as you can see the solid-state drive is booted in about 23 seconds you the 7200 rpm drive is completed in about a minute and five seconds you and the 5400 rpm Drive finishes in about one minute and 50 seconds we're now going to load OpenOffice on all three systems at the same time the solid state drive loads in about a second and a half you and the 7200 rpm drive coming in at just over 30 seconds you the 5400 RPM drive finis
