This pair of premium solar filters are safe for solar viewing when mounted on binoculars. They have a rating of Neutral Density 5, which blocks 99.999% of all light, including harmful IR and UV rays. The apertures are made of high quality, .002", Helios Solar Film, and mounted into an aluminum outer cell . The filters slip over the sky end of your optical tubes, secured and centered with a nylon thumb screws and felt tabs. Your solar filters will come packaged in a foam lined storage box and include instructions for proper use and care. When used properly, a natural yellow-orange image of the sun is viewed through your filters. Dependent on the size and strength of your binoculars, you will be able to see sunspots, solar granulation (suns photosphere), eclipses, and planet transits.
