after installing PV cam for your lvds camera in 32-bit vista RS config opens and shows all connected cameras here it shows the LVDS can or as you would expect but when you open your camera software it can't find any connected cameras this is due to a side effect of windows vistas user account control to fix this you need to run RS config as an administrator navigate your computer to c program files photometrics pv cam utilities and then the RS config folder right click RS config and select run as administrator make sure your camera is still listed then hit OK the next time you run your camera software the LVDS camera will be detected and you can resume imaging normally
