Ultra HD or 4k televisions has sparked a debate among television enthusiasts on the one hand you've got folks saying Ultra HD is stupid and they back up that name-calling with science-based assertions that say look unless you're a certain distance from the TV you can't see the pixels anyway on the other hand you've got people looking at Ultra HD content on Ultra HD TVs and they're saying guys this is awesome stuff so are the 4k naysayers just being grumps or are the 4k flag wavers maybe drinking a little too much kool-aid well we think the real story is somewhere in the middle to find out we pitted a 65 inch HD Samsung F 8500 against a 65 inch Ultra HD samsung hu 85 50 and streamed the same netflix content on each one in UHD the other HD to shed a little light on the topic now before we get going let me start by saying that yes we pitted a plasma against an LED TV we did this on purpose
