here's something I learned from generations my grandfather my father did it I'm sure my great-grandfather did it and that was to burn the wood out of the end of a broken shovel instead of drilling it out or trying to get it out just throw it into a fire and let the fire do all the work now it's not a good idea to get the fire real hot that might warp the shovel or the tool that you're working with or trying to repair gonna be a small fire you can see here I got some charcoals in there going and sometimes you can just burn it enough to where it'll fall out it doesn't need to burn completely out it just needs to loosen up where you can get it out and then when you get the handle just use a sander dis sander belt sander you can even grab a whittling knife and just Whittle the end of the of the handle or the pole down and until it fits snugly into the tool that you have just removed the woo
