i guess you're getting into racing something i get asked a lot of questions about is transponders what is transponder how do you hook it up what does it do um so basically all transponder is for lack of better words is a little micro trip that basically detects the loop on the race track and counts your laps here at rc madness we use the mylapse ones for our lifetime setup there's two ones that we generally sell this is just your basic one here they have a two wire and three wire one we usually just collect the three wire one they're a little bit cheaper and work the same on our system but there's also a two wire that works just fine so if you look at it here there's a number across it each transponder has a unique number that is associated with your name and your car so it can be detect the lapse for your name during your race that's the main benefit of that and also to pick up the lap
