starting off an old bike upgrade with
new headset and stem this Nishiki from the early to mid 90s will get a
front-end makeover starting with these heat damaged shifters dodgy tape job and
of course the headset and stem first off the cables here the front brake then the
tape and the rear brake watch out for frayed cables there's nothing more
painful than a jab in the finger from one of these the rear and front derailleur cables
clearing the way to remove the shifters with the other side done we're right to
remove the handlebar and stem and then the headset now to remove the crown race which we'll
do with a crown race puller it's a matter of tightening the bolts back in
front in line with each other the blades wedge under the race lifting
it away from the crown loosen it off then remove this cap removal tool is
fine for twenty eight point six millimeters but I don't have a twenty
