Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors - Leaded 680uF 25V 105C

hi there and welcome to mr. Carlson's lab in this episode of tech tips Tuesday I'm going to show you how to remove surface mount electrolytic capacitors without desoldering them so let's get started I'm replacing the surface mount electrolytic capacitors on the acquisition board of this old Tektronix oscilloscope and I frequently get asked how do you get these old capacitors off they're a real pain to get off and yeah they are what happens with these things is they leak their electrolyte out of the bottom and it kind of floods around the pins and it makes the solder connections on the board not want it basically D solder or even take new solder it almost puts like a barrier on top of it so there is a brute-force method of getting these off and of course if you're going to do this you need to really assess the area you know if your electrolyte has eaten right into the circuit board and y
