The Beha-Amprobe AT-8000-EUR Advanced Wire Tracer has a Smart Sensor that enables easier wire tracing by showing the direction and position of the wire. It’s recommended for tracing Energized wires. Once you’ve connected the test leads to the transmitter, attach the red lead to the wire being traced and the green lead to a separate ground to avoid signal coupling. Turn on the Transmitter. The red LED light should be on, indicating proper connection of the test leads to the energized line above 30 V AC/DC. Then turn on the receiver at least 3 feet from the transmitter to minimize signal interference. Select SMART SENSOR mode using the directional arrows, hold the receiver with the Smart Sensor facing the target area and adjust sensitivity until you find a signal strength of 50 to 75 percent.
