welcome back now we're going to talk composition this is just a brief overview of composition if you want to know more about composition just consult my course on composition for abstract the goal is interesting you want to make your painting interesting there are many ways to create interesting you start with a sketch you make a small practice painting what would you change make a list make notes on the back of that practice painting then you will be ready for a bigger painting i always do a practice painting first it helps me figure out the larger painting in a better way there is no wrong way to do this there's only finding the right way to tell your story so your story might have more textures or big shapes or small shapes whatever your story is when you're painting that's the important part each painting is a story even if it's abstract usually especially if it's abstract each pain
