bottom line up front this runs cool like a class d amp but absolutely equals or exceeds any class a amp on the market i'm a huge nelson pass fan demos against a pass saw 30 8 and this thing was equal or better in every area it actually beat the pass in both resolution and refinement i use it with a benchmark la-4 linustage preamp and an rme audi 2fs v2 dac the ahb2 handily dispatched a parasound halo 821 and bryston for bss t2 in direct comparisons it gets you really close to tube magic without any of the hassles slash work i can say this because i own a five thousand dollars line magnetic lm805 yaw integrated tube amp which shames anything prima luna offers even the evo 400 benchmark makes incredible stuff that despite not being cheap is actually a ridiculously good value class a rated by stereophile which means world-class performance with no respect to price it's an end game amp for
