in this video i'm going to give you an overview and a description of what a recessed outlet is that's the box that it came in some people call these clock outlets many years ago they developed this and called it a clock outlet because when you had an electric clock hanging on the wall and you plugged it into a normal receptacle like this you had all of this cord sticking out from the wall and the clock never hung on the wall nice and straight so if you have an electric clock you plug it into this recessed outlet now you can see how the clock could hang flat on the wall now another reason to use one of these if you have a flat screen tv you want to mount on the wall and it sticks out from the wall about three inches because of this cord from your tv you can install one of these it goes in any wall uh that has a normal outlet like this one here that wires in the exact same so if i show yo
