welcome to the scan YouTube channel on sack you pass and I've got an overview slash review with a sound blaster II one portable headphone amp now if you're wondering what a headphone amp is or do I actually need one well no usually you don't need a headphone amplifier and that's all it is it's just something that boost volume gives you more gain so you can hear that now an amplifier really only applies to certain headphones that require more power and more juice to run so for instance I have a really sort of high-end headset here that requires three hundred ohms my phone cannot run it this doesn't output enough power so I will need an amplifier to boost it to the right levels now it would still work if I plug directly into my phone it's just going to sound very quiet and I'm not going to hear as much bass tones etc it's just going to sound a little bit dull so an amplifier is needed but
