How did you come up with the idea for this product? As a result of our background in retail packaging, we witnessed, first-hand, the frustrations associated with ordering custom paperboard packaging in small quantities. Not only were small orders prohibitively expensive due to printing plates, tooling and machine set-ups, the lead times were excessive because commercial box-making involves numerous manufacturing sequences such as pre-press, printing, cutting, creasing and gluing. Out of our frustration came the idea to perform all the capital intensive, time consuming manufacturing in advance of the actual box printing (the fun and easy part) so that end users could output custom boxes with just an inkjet printer and an internet connection. What makes your product special? All zumibox printable, flat box blanks are meticulously engineered for strength and flexibility in order to feed through home inkjet printers without falling apart. On the graphic side, our intuitive online design tool employs the latest in real time 3D modeling to allow users to view their custom creations in 3D from all sides and angles prior to printing, thus ensuring a perfect box every time.
