[Music] hey what's up this is reid the echo.4th gen has just been released with a major new redesign and you might be wondering was it just a design change or did they actually improve over the previous generation i'll compare it side by side with the old version to help you know if you should spend a little extra money if you're buying a dot for the first time or if you should upgrade your previous generation dots when amazon unveiled their new echo dot the big surprise was the design the hockey puck shape is now a thing of the past and the new dot looks more like a ball wrapped in fabric i think some people didn't like the shape at first but then apple unveiled their new homepod mini which looks almost exactly the same and it's pretty much the same width and height as the dot it seems like more people are rolling with it now amazon sent me this review unit a few days early to try out
